  • The River House: Early 1900s Colonial Revival with rooftop garden
  • The Victorian: 1890s Queen Anne with award-winning heritage garden
  • Future Properties: Additional historic homes under consideration
  • Historic district-compliant landscaping
  • Heritage variety vegetable and herb gardens
  • Educational demonstration gardens
  • Period-appropriate ornamental plantings
Key Responsibilities
  • Heritage Garden Management: Grow heirloom varieties and period-appropriate plants that tell the story of Ohio River Valley agriculture
  • Historic Compliance: Ensure all landscaping meets historic district guidelines while promoting sustainability
  • Educational Component: Create gardens that teach guests and visitors about historical gardening practices and native plants
  • Tourist Considerations: Maintain beautiful, photogenic gardens that enhance Marietta's appeal to visitors
  • Collaboration with Sarah: Work closely with our live-in innkeeper to integrate garden activities with guest experiences
  • Seasonal Programming: Design four-season interest with historical accuracy and modern sustainability
  • Research & Documentation: Research historical plantings and maintain records of heritage varieties

Requirements
Essential Skills
  • 3+ years landscaping or horticulture experience

  • Reliable transportation to Marietta properties
