The Opportunity

Join our team in maintaining the crown jewel of SILK Homes—four magnificent 1890s cottages along the Ohio River. You'll be responsible for the grounds and gardens that make Ravenswood our most beautiful and productive location.

This is where history meets horticulture. You'll work with heritage plants, manage our largest victory garden network, and maintain landscapes that guests remember long after they leave.

What You'll Manage
  • The Riverside Cottage: Herb garden and river views
  • The Garden House: Our most productive victory garden
  • The Craftsman: Ornamental and privacy landscaping
  • Innkeeper's Residence: Community gathering spaces
  • Shared pathways and common areas
  • River access and waterfront maintenance
  • Heritage plant preservation
  • Seasonal flower displays
Key Responsibilities
  • Victory Garden Management: Plan, plant, maintain, and harvest our extensive vegetable and herb gardens
  • Grounds Maintenance: Mowing, pruning, weeding, and general upkeep of all outdoor spaces
  • Riverfront Care: Special attention to plants and erosion control along the Ohio River
  • Guest Integration: Create opportunities for guests to participate in garden activities
  • Seasonal Planning: Four-season maintenance including winter preparation and spring restoration
  • Equipment Management: Maintain and operate landscaping tools and equipment
  • Native Plant Focus: Emphasize plants native to the Ohio River Valley

Requirements
Essential Skills
  • 2+ years landscaping or gardening experience
